Sharepoint Designer not available in Sharepoint Online site

After reviewing nearly all site options I have available to me (full-control permissions) I cannot find an option to enable list editing from the site. Furthermore, trying to connect from sharepoint2010 throws a version error, connecting to the site through sharepoint2013 throws a 403-Forbidden Permissions error. I have also contacted the sharepoint administrator to enable custom code but still can't seem to get this option to become available.

Multiple Step Reminder Workflow -- Having issues

Hey guys I'm trying to figure this out but I'm not sure how to do it.

Quick Summary:

I have an InfoPath form (15 views).

It basically goes like this Request -> Admin Approval -> Owner Action -> Signoff approval -> Admin Approval -> Owner Action -> Signoff Approval -> Admin Approval -> Owner Action -> Signoff Approval -> Admin Approval

After each step there is an email automically sent out to the next line in person(s). This part was easily done.

What I'm trying to do now is to have reminder emails sent out to the next in line person if they have not taken any action within 12 hours, and then again at the 24 hour mark.

I can successfully do this for the first view change using <If Current Item Field Equals> + <Pause for xx time> + send email.

However this seems to only work for the first part. If the first part is completed too quickly.. it seems to get stuck in the pause loop, and by the time it gets to the next <If Current item equals>, that field has already changed twice and workflow simply does not continue.

Is there a better way to do this? Basically I need it to only send the email if a field on the form has not changed, and I need it to be intuitive enough where it doesn't get screwed up by the speed at which someone is approving/editing it.

I can see this working if I create 15 workflows each for their own view and have them run simultaneously.. but this is too much stress on the system and there has to be a better way to do it.

Can anybody help me or throw me an idea? I would greatly appreciate it!!

InfoPath Form saved as "Form1"

Hi,

We've a SharePoint form library where we've published our InfoPath form. We've a "Submit" button in the form where we've set rule to set filename for the form once it gets saved to the library. But sometimes client tries to submit the form and it gets saved to the library as filename "Form1" or "Form2". I've tried multiple times but couldn't able to replicate the issue.

Has anyone faced such issue before?

Sharepoint Designer 2013 changes font to times new roman

Why does the font change to Times New Roman in some of the fields when I publish and email notification in SharePoint Designer. I set the font to Calibri but when the user receives an email some of the fonts are switched to Times New Roman.

Dear All,

i wanted to notify via email all those users having access or shared the listitem/folder and file with given item level permission.

According to "The "Shared With" column displays users who no longer have access to a document in SharePoint Online," The Shared With column displays any accounts that the document was previously shared with

how can we find the list of  people who having access of List-item currently.

its very urgent, your suggestion is very valuable for me. awaiting for your response.

Error while saving a workflow via sharepoint designer: Server-side activities have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities.

While saving a workflow using SharePoint designer on a SharePoint site, I get the following error: 

Server-side activities have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities.

Steps to recreate error:

  • Login to the WFE server hosting IIS and workflow manager, open SharePoint Designer 2013 and login to a SharePoint site.
  • Access the list using SharePoint Designer 2013, in the workflow section, click new workflow. 
  • In the new workflow dialog, enter workflow details, click save (see screenshot below).
  • Error message is displayed as below:
  • After restarting SharePoint Designer, the saved workflow is not seen in the site/workflows or list/workflow section.

Workaround

When the above steps are repeated while accessing the site via SPD from any other box besides the WFE/Workflow manager host server, the error is not encountered and its possible to save/publish workflows.

Notes

  • Workflow Manager 1.0 is installed.
  • The site has been registered with Workflow manager using Register-SPWorkflowService cmdlet.

Any clue on why is this happening?

InfoPath 2013 SQL data connection not working from browser

Hello,

In simple infopath form, I have created a SQL data connection, converted and saved the connection to Data connection library of same site collection.

The connection file include this as authentication setting: 

<udc:Authentication><udc:SSO AppId='ProjectServerApplication' CredentialType='NTLM' /></udc:Authentication>

Form is working fine from infopath.

Once publish the form to sharepoint list within same site collection, below error appears:

below is from ULS logs:

Data adapter failed during OnLoad: Authentication information in the UDC file could not be used for this connection because user forms are not allowed to use UDC authentication. To change this settings, use the InfoPath Forms Services configuration page in SharePoint Central Admin.b472309d-09f0-e082-1f22-dc80ce9b90e4

now i have already enabled all the Infopath form services options from Central admin. Did IISReset couple of times as well. but no joy.

I have used secure store ID already configured and working. any chance if issue due to secure store? If yes, shouldnt ULS logs point into that direction.

Any clues?

Assigned To = [Me] Does not work for system account

I am configuring a portal with a system account. certain views are setup to filter "Assigned To = [Me]". The filter does not appear to be working.

This is the only account the customer has provided and I just wanted to confirm that this was normal behavior.




Document review and approval workflow in SharePoint Designer 2013

Hi,

I am new to SharePoint Designer 2013. I need to create approval workflow for document review and approval.  

The workflow need to allow the person who uploads the document in SP to be able to choose/assign the review and approval task to several users at the time of uploading the document. Preferably the workflow needs to allow sequential approval; if the first assigned person approves the document then the approval task need to be forwarded to the next approver rather than parallel approval, and similarly if rejected the workflow needs to end.  

Additionally I need to design the workflow to allow set up of due date (deadline for approval) by the person uploading the document in SP as well as email notification when the document has been approved, rejected or forwarded to the next approver. 

I have never worked with developing workflows of any kind so any detailed information would be very helpful. 

Can someone help with that request?

Collect Feedback Workflow for SharePoint 365 2013 Online

Please can someone help?

I need to set up a 'Collect Feedback' workflow on the above platform. The version we have only offers three workflow type and this one is not included. 

I need a workflow whereby I send a proposal document to various people (recipients can vary each time) by email. They then need to write a review the proposal and score it out of five.  Once they have completed the task I should receive an email with the details.  At the end of the workflow I need a complete summary of everyones reviews and scores emailed to me.  Ideally I need to be able to edit the person's response on their behalf as well.

Thought that I could set one up by using some sort of template, but I have found nothing online.  I have also not been able to find any assistance on using the multiple/complex options (to me anyway) in SharePoint Designer. 

Any assistance or resources people are aware of would be hugely appreciated.

Who made the bright decision not to include the design view in SPD 2013?

That just wipes out most of the Power Users out there. 

Does someone have another option?

I can't believe that Microsoft would neglect so many SPD users who do not have a programming background.

Error enabling InfoPath form template via Powershell

I have an administrator-approved InfoPath form template with C# code behind that I'm trying to deploy via PowerShell. I use the Install-SPInfoPathFormTemplate command to install the form -- that part works, and I can see the form listed in the Manage Form Templates page in Central Admin.

However, when I try to enable the form using the Enable-SPInfoPathFormTemplate command, I get the error below:

There isn't enough detail for me to follow it up in any way - no correlation ID that I can look up in the logs or nothing related in the Event Viewer, as far as I can see.

I also tried to deploy the form via the Manage Form Templates page in Central Admin (i.e. click the Activate to a Site Collection dropdown). That produced the enlightening error message

Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation.

Correlation ID: 9cb02e9d-20d4-e01a-4752-bac166fec88c

I looked up this correlation ID in the log viewer but there is nothing that seems to be related to deploying an InfoPath form. I am pretty certain there is nothing wrong with the form itself or the code behind because it has been deployed successfully on another server. There are no immediately obvious differences between form libraries/content types on the server where it works and the server where it doesn't. Separately, I am looking for the needle in that even bigger haystack too, but for now I am hoping someone will be able to shed some light on the situation described here, because in the absence of any kind of meaningful error message I am completely stumped.

Some Documents switch to a Completed Status instead of Approved Status in Approval Workflow

We have some Documents switch to a Completed Status instead of Approved Status in Approval Workflow when the workflow has been approved. I cannot figure out why this happens. The documents that have the Approved Status show the workflow history when we click on "Approved" However, the documents that go to the Completed Status do not show a workflow history when we click on "Completed"

Document Parent/Child relationship (references) to send alerts when changes occur

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can help me with some suggestions on the following requirement I have (SP2013 SP1, SP Designer 2013).  It's being called a Parent/Child document relationship -

We have a document library.  One column of the library is called References.  This column is a multi-select LOOKUP to the same library and pulls in the Title. 

So basically in my Library I have Doc1 and Doc2.  A user can then upload Doc3(parent) and select from the References lookup column, Doc1(child) AND Doc2(child).

What I need to happen is when documents change alerts are sent out based on that relationship. 

So, Doc3(parent) references Doc1 and Doc2(children)....if Doc2(child) changes, I need an alert sent to the owner of Doc3 (parent).  Same if Doc1 changes, Doc3 owner should get an email alert.

I can easily send an alert to Doc1 and Doc2 owners if Doc3 changes with a simple workflow - but am kind of stuck as to how I can (if I can) use a workflow to capture that Doc2 is REFERENCED BY Doc3 and then trigger the alerts I need.

Any help, suggestions, ideas is welcome.  I really would like to keep this to using Designer, workflows, a 2nd list, whatever and not have to use VS if at all possible


trying to persist site title and global navigation when in Office Web Apps

Hello! I am creating a SharePoint 2013 Intranet site for a business. They want to have a SharePoint home page that links out to Office Web App pages, like PPTs and DOCXs. The site and pages are using O365, in the cloud. The problem is that when a link to one a document is clicked, the site title and global navigation disappear. The user can hit the back button, but it is not an optimal "website" experience. Is there any way to make the site title and global navigation bar persist whether or not you are on the SharePoint home page or in one of the Web App pages?

How do you make it the logo takes you back to the homepage on SharePoint?

Custom Page layout having issue with Webpart and zones height and width

Hi All,

We have a setup of SharePoint 2013 Standard env.

We have requirement to brand particular site in our environment. For that I have customized the Top level navigation as well created custom page layout with 6 webpart zones ( 2 rows and 3 columns web part zones) and the custom master page.

Here in my site landing page I want to show Slide Show with complete page Width 100% and Height should be 30 to 40% of total page layout width For example it should look like this site's slide show.http://www.woodside.com.au/Pages/home.aspx this is branded SharePoint Site.

And same I want to have 3 to 4 web-part zones after that slide in center exactly similar tohttp://www.woodside.com.au/Pages/home.aspx .

So expert can you please direct me how to proceed further to get this custom page layout created.

Autopopulate fields in a SharePoint custom list form using procedure in oracle

Hi,

Our organisation has an oracle database. We intend to retrieve some values from this database and dynamically populate the SharePoint custom list new items/ edit form fields. We already have a oracle procedure that retrieves the data but obviously calling this procedure in a client side script is not a very good idea. I was wondering if there is a more secure way to do this out of the box using SharePoint designer. One way that I think could work(please correct me if I am wrong) might be create a data source using server side script and retrieve data from the created data source; not sure how to do that using client-side script though.

I do understand that we can write an App for this but our requirement at the moment is to do everything out of the box.

Any suggestions are much appreciated. By the way we are using SharePoint Office 365 Enterprise Edition.

Infopath Submit Error - DISP_E_OVERFLOW

I have an infopath form that save data to the sharepoint list.
There is a look up column for Account which populates account numbers based on country ( cascading lookup).
I am able to save the form for most of the account numbers except for the ones which are 11 digit numbers.
It throws below error:

The form cannot be submitted because of an error.
Click OK to resume filling out the form. You may want to check your form data for errors.
Log ID: The form cannot be submitted.
Out of present range. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8002000A (DISP_E_OVERFLOW))
