i hope somebody can help me on this. I've been looking on the internet but can't find a solution.

I wanted to make a workflow for our SharePoint Online site using SPD.

Trying to make an archive library i followed the instructions i found in a blog (can't post links) which included:
Create an extra column (choice) and based on the value in that column, copy an item to another library and delete that item in the original library.

Start of the workflow:
Automatically start this workflow when a new item is created
Automatically start this workflow whenever an item is changed

I cannot select the "an item is changed" option. In my SPD i see the same option twice:
Start of the workflow:
Automatically start this workflow when a new item is created
Automatically start this workflow when a new item is created

This seems really weird to me. Am i doing something wrong?

we are using SharePoint as a database for my application , problem is with creating recurrence events , I have created an event with start time 12:30 pm to End time 1:30 Pm ,daily and start date is 16-10-2014 and end date is 7-11-2014 with UTC time zone . 

while getting response from server events are 

16-10-2014 12:30pm to 16-10-2014 12:30pm

17-10-2014 12:30pm to 17-10-2014 12:30pm

18-10-2014 12:30pm to 18-10-2014 12:30pm

---so on ....i found problem , it is doing -60 mins to do DST , 

here my question is why server is using DST even i sent date in UTC format , is there any solution for this .

I am using Sharepoint Designer 2013 with a Sharepoint 2013 foundation server on Windows Server 2012. Just a preface here regarding the issue below: Rebooting appears to resolve the problem until the next workflow compilation error. The bottom line is that I had to reboot the server 10 times in the last 2 days. I am not seeing anything else out there that resembles this problem, so I would appreciate any advice about what we can do from here.

After publishing a workflow, I received the following errors: 

Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run

(0, 0) Activity 'ID187' validation failed: An IfElseActivity must have at least one child of type IfElseBranchActivity.)

(0, 0) Activity 'ID201' validation failed: An IfElseActivity must have at least one child of type IfElseBranchActivity.)

The larger problem, however, is that once ANY workflow publishing error occurs, I will get the following message when I try to perform any workflow publishing until the server is rebooted.

Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run: Unexpected error on server associating the workflow.

I also noticed there are several links when navigating through the settings page that produce varying errors similar to this:

An error occurred during the compilation of the requested file, or one of its dependencies. Could not write to output file 'c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\784a69f1\95fd2dd1\App_Web_vsubwebs.aspx.9c9699a8.1xoeknv5.dll' -- 'The directory name is invalid. '

Hello everybody!

I am trying to add a webpart to a specific page using my Sharepoint 2013 Workflow. I can't make it work so far.

I am building the workflow with sharepoint designer 2013 and I am using Sharepoint Online 2013.

My thought was to use the "Call Http Service" Action with the SOAP Request "AddWebPartToZone" (from the endpoint: /_vti_bin/webpartpages.asmx).

However the "Call Http Service" does not allow me to add a raw body to the POST/PUT request. (which is where I have to put the SOAP envelope).

So my question is: How can I get this to work?
Is there another downloadable workflow action pack that supports SOAP calls?
OR is there a RESTful Http Service that can be used for adding a webpart to a page? 
(e.g. can the "addwebpart(webpart, zoneId, zoneIndex)" method of the limitedwebpartmanager be used in a Http Call?)

Hi Guys,

I'm creating workflows using SharePoint Designer 2013.

I was wondering if I'm able to have some tasks in a workflow to have the default outcomes which are "Approved" and "Rejected" but to also have other tasks in the same workflow to have a custom outcome of "Completed". I have already created a custom content type so I'm able to use a Complete button instead of Approved or Rejected.

If I'm able to have 2 different sets of outcomes (Complete or Approved/Rejected) in tasks, how can I programmatically change the outcomes for different tasks?

I have a SP 2013 installation with publishing sites and some of my sites are coming up with the following error. I have spent a few days trying to isolate the issue without success. Certain sites are experiencing this issues yet all sites are using the same Publishing site template and same masterpage.

On the status bar for a page I see the following "Checked out to you Only you can see your recent changes.Check it in." and when I click on the check it is I get the following error. "SCRIPT 445: Object doesnt support this action. File: sp.ribbon.js, Line: 2, Column: 198501." If I edit the page and click check in then it works 100%. This error only displays when the page is saved and then I try check it in.

If I add <script src="/_layouts/SP.UI.Dialog.js" type="text/javascript"></script> to the head of my masterpage the check in box appears however this messes up all the dialog boxes.

Any ideas / suggestions would be appreciated.

My Scenario is I have getting User Information from external system which i want to sync with the User Profile - No Problem in that.  but when end User will change that information it should go under the approval process so can i apply  Workflow on User Profiles. and also can i need to give an option to upload different types of documents attachment

I am desperately trying to figure out how I can create a simple text file using the SharePoint REST API from within a SPD Workflow.

The Endpoint I am adressing is https://<siteurl>/_api/web/getfolderbyserverrelativeurl('Shared Documents')/files/add(overwrite=true,url='myfile.txt') using the POST method. The API reference for the add method can be found here (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/dn450841%28v=office.15%29.aspx#bk_FileCollectionAdd). The reference states that the content parameter should be passed via the request body.

So what am I trying to do in SPD?

I am using a dictionary variable to construct my request header:

• Accept: application/json;odata=verbose
• X-RequestDigest: <value extracted from a previous call to _api/contextinfo>

I add a Call HTTP web service activity to my workflow:

• Address: https://<siteurl>/_api/web/getfolderbyserverrelativeurl('Shared Documents')/files/add(overwrite=true,url='myfile.txt')
• RequestType: HTTP POST
• RequestHeaders: <my request header dictionary variable>

But then I am stuck. I simply can't figure out how to pass the content of my file to theCall HTTP web service activity. I guess I somehow need to set the RequestContent parameter but all it accepts is a dictionary variable where I would need to pass a simple String value (the actual file content). Using a dictionary variable results in my file getting a content like {"content":"My text content"}, which obviously is not what I want to achieve.

What am I missing? Any help on this issue is really appreciated.

I have successfully created a simple workflow on a list that logs a message: "message 1" in the workflow history list when an item is created in that list.

The workflow is saves as a wsp file in Sharepoint Designer 2013 and uploaded so it can be activated on multiple subsites in the sitecollection.

This Works great. However now I wish to change the logged message to "message 2". The procedure I try to fullfill in order to do this is (please correct me if I'm wrong):

1. Deactivate the feature on the subsites where it is running and deactivate it on the site Collection.

2. Uninstall the solution

3. Upload the new solution with the "message 2" logged message.

4. activate it the site Collection and in the subsites where it was previous added.

The feature is activated correctly in the site however the workflow running still says "message 1" in the history log!. What am I missing here?

I've then tried to activate the new workflow on another subsite (where it has not previously been activated) and here it display the correct log mesage "message 2".

Any ideas?

I want to hide(not disable) the "Save As" and "Exit" options in the File Menu of Excel Documents in SharePoint 2013.When I make changes in the excelribbon.css file of xlviewer.aspx,all the options under File menu are getting hidden but I want to hide only these two options while retaining the others.

Kindly suggest me a method to achieve this.

I have a community list in my site,   and the default view sorts them by date posted.

But we would like to also have them 'grouped' by the category on the page.

For example:

Category #1

Topic a
Topic b

Category #2
Topic c

in previous version of SP Designer,  this would have been very simple but for some reason I cannot get it to work in SP 2013.

In designer,  I have selected the grouping option.   Clicked 'category' and also checked the box display header.   But when I view the page,  nothing is different.   The category is not there.

I also noticed that when I move columns around,  there is no change when viewing the page. 

What am I do wrong?

I am facing below problem in Content Query Web Part to display the column data. In content query web part, all the field value are appearing (ex: Text, Taxonomy field, number) based on the filter query but if any field with Allow multiple values option, then this particular field data is not appearing in the Web part.

Please let me know the solution.
